Indian arrested in Myanmar had a Myanmarese wife - Report

An Indian, arrested in August 2020 at the Chindwin River Bridge in Monywa, Zeyar Extension Ward in Myanmar was found to have been married to a Myanmarese lady, report the voice of Mynamar.
He reportedly lives at No.5 Street of Monywa, Zeyar Extension Ward.
According to the Myanmar based newspaper, the Immigration and Population Department in Sagaing Township opened a case against him at the Sagaing City Police Station on January 9 for allegedly marrying a Burmese national with a Burmese identity card.
The suspect is an Indian-Kachin man living in Kakching Tokpaching, Manipur, India.
The report said that the person is also a captain in the People's Liberation Army (PLA), an armed group waging war against the government of India.
Nora (b) Devanl, a 33-year-old captain of the Kachin National Armed Forces, was arrested in 2014 in Hopin, Mohnyin Township, Kachin State, Myawaddy Ward, Myanmar.
It is said that he received a citizenship card.
The report added that, according to a reply from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Major Nora (Devi) Devanl was an Indian citizen, when Lay Maung, the head of the Irrigation Department in Sagaing Township, submitted to his superiors to confirm whether the holder of the ID card was an Indian citizen.
Therefore, U Lay Maung, Commander of the Irrigation Department of Sagaing Township arrested Nora (B) Devan, an Indian national living in Myanmar with a Burmese ID card, at the Sagaing City Police Station yesterday (W) 5/2021 .
The case was filed under Section 13 (1) of the 1947 Myanmar Immigration Law.
The indiscriminate captain was arrested on August 13, 2020, while driving a paradox from Mandalay to Tamu at the Chindwin River Bridge in Monywa, when he was arrested along with five Indian nationals who had entered Burma illegally.
