3 including woman killed in mishap

Imphal, February 11, 2011:
Three people, including a woman, have been killed when the Bolero jeep they were travelling in met with an accident near Maram Electricity Office, located on the oinam Road under Mao police station in Senapati district.
Atleast six other occupants also suffered injuries and are reportedly undergoing treatment at RIMS Hospital.
According to an informed source, due to technical snag driver of the jeep lost control and fell into a deep gorge of about 100 feet from the road at around 4 pm yesterday.
The deceased persons have been identified as Zainangla Poumai (45) w/o (L) Thithi Thomas, Thio Poumai (78) and R Khai Poumai (65), all from oinam village.
While Zainangla and Thio died on the spot of mishap R Khai passed away on the way to hospital.
It is informed that the accident took place on their way back to Oinam village from Senapati town, where they had attended a marriage ceremony.
The driver is said to be absconding.
The corpses have been handed over to their respective family members after post mortem examination at Maram primary health centre.
of the four injured two are girls in their 20s and a 10 years old boy.
In another mishap, an electricity Department line-man was admitted to RIMS Hospital at around 10 pm yesterday with serious burn injuries, reportedly sustained in trying to connect power line from the local transformer.
The individual has been identified as Moirangmayum Binoy (53) of chajing Mairenkhong and posted as a line-man in Thoubal Division Electricity Department.
