Kakching, May 10 2021:
Kakching MLA Mayanglambam Rameshwar Singh on Monday inspected Kakching Higher Secondary School Covid Care Centre (CCC), Community Home Isolation Centres (CHICs) opened at ITI Kakching and at Kakching Makha High School along with distributing hand sanitizers and face masks at the centres.
Later, the MLA held a review meeting with Kakching deputy commissioner D Gangmei and SDO Maringmei Pourallung Kabui along with health officials to discuss additional steps to be taken in the district considering the sharp rise in number of Covid-19 positive cases.
Speaking on the sidelines of the meeting, MLA M Rameshwar assured that there will be no more problems for positive patients in reaching CHICs from Covid Testing Centre as arrangement has been made for an ambulance for their conveyance.
He said a driver has been appointed for the recently provided ambulance to Kakching CHC which will be utilised for transportation of the positive patients from testing centre to CHICs.
On top of that, two private vehicles have also been hired and will be kept at the testing centre for patients.
The MLA conveyed that doctors have been visiting the CHICs once every day to check on patients staying there and from Tuesday onwards a nurse will be kept 24x7 at these centres.
Very soon a CHIC will also be opened at SC/ST Girls Hostel located at Kakching Wairi, since there is not enough room for new patients at the present CHICs, he further informed.
Meanwhile, DC D Gangmei issued an order on Monday appointing nurses that will be stationed at the Kakching Higher Secondary School CCC along with ITI Kakching, Kakching Makha High School and Langmeidong Higher Secondary School CHICs.
