Thoubal, August 25 2021:
Political activist Kharibam Jivan of Wangkhem AC distributed edibles to people of Charangpat Mayai Leikai Sorokhaibam Leikai to mark the conclusion of his relief item distribution programmes launched on July 30 to aid people of the assembly segment worst affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Later, Jivan paid obeisance to the ancestral shrine of Kharibam clan in Charangpat followed by a simple programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Jivan opined that Wangkhem AC is remaining backward, despite the launch of many welfare schemes by the central and state governments, due to insincerity of its successive elected representatives.
He then appealed to the people to avail the schemes and cooperate with one another for equal development.
The other speakers at the programme also commented on the backwardness of the constituency and urged their fellow citizens to wake up and take responsibility by electing a sincere person, who is committed to serving the people, to power.
