Assam Rifles launches sanitisation drive

Imphal, June 03 2021:
In collaboration with IT Road task force, 44 Assam Rifles of 22 Sector/ IGAR (E) undertook COVID sanitisation drive in Chalwa village of Kangpokpi district on Thursday to contain the spread of Covid-19 pandemic in rural areas.
During the sanitisation drive, the unit COVID response team carried out sanitation of all the important public centres which includes church, market place, village quarantine centre, village containment zones, said a PIB (DW) release.
The team along with the local volunteers carried out spraying of disinfectant around these places and conducted awareness campaign to educate public about social distancing and how to stop the spread of the virus.
Locals were also encouraged to stay inside and told about importance of washing of hands and maintaining hygiene and sanitation, the release maintained, adding that the unit in collaboration with local volunteers shall be visiting other villages in Tuilang area to carry out a mass sanitation drive in coming days.
