Imphal, August 27 2014:
The Manipur units of JD-U and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are set to submit a joint draft report to the All Political Party Inner Line Permit (ILP) Committee and explain it that it is feasible to re-introduce Inner Line Permit (ILP) in the state.
The draft report prepared by the two parties would be submitted to the All Political Party ILP Committee before the next meeting of the latter, M Tombi, president, Manipur JD-U told reporters at the party office here Tuesday.
He said the state JD-U and AAP would also raise verbal contention at the next meeting of the All Political Party ILP Committee to show the practicability on re-introduction of ILP system in the state.
Tombi added, "We're not banning entry of outsiders into the state.
We just want to verify non-locals coming to the state in order to establish facts regarding involvement in crimes, reasons of the coming and the period they want to stay here" .
"We simply want to issue ID cards to outsiders coming to Manipur," he added.
