Imphal, April 25 2015 :
The All Manipur Muslim Students' Organisation (AMMS0) on Saturday issued a statement endorsing and supporting the ongoing agitations launched under the aegis of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of All Manipur Hill Districts Contract Basis Teachers' Association (AMHDCBTA), 2006 batch.
These contractual teachers have been agitating demanding, inter alia, regularization of their services.
In a statement the AMMSO President Farid Khan said that the teachers have been making their rightful claim of service regularization in view of the problem of acute shortage of teachers in the schools in the hill districts.
AMMSO appreciates the Government policy of the recent recruitment of teachers for Jiribam Sub-Division to fill up the vacant posts of teachers in various schools of Jiribam while Government is not aware the problems of the shortage of teachers in hill schools.
AMMSO has taken up the issue of shortage of teachers in the hill schools seriously, supports the demand of the striking teachers to regularize the services of those who are engaged on contract basis on adhoc before any recruitment drive is done.
AMMSU said Manipur Government does not listen to the grievances of the people until strike or blockade is imposed.
The Union appealed to the State Government to solve the issue before agitation is intensified.
