Govt concerned over non-issuance of admit cards

A public interest discussion on the non-issuance of admits card to students of non-affiliated CBSE schools took place at the State Assembly on Monday.
The discussion on the matter of Public interest was participated by MLAs Th Shyamkumar, L Ibomcha Singh and Dr I Ibohanbi Singh.
While responding to the suggestions and observations, Education Minister M Okendro Singh said that special exams for CBSE and Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur are completely different.
Government has a lot of concern for those students and has taken up action on the matter and it is waiting for a report which will take about five months, he added.
In response to another calling attention motion moved by MLA Kh Shyamkumar Singh, Education Minister M Oken Singh said that a High Power Committee headed by State Chief Secretary had already conducted a probe on the issue of mis-appropriation of UGC fund by a former principal of Lilong Haoreibi College.
The principal has been suspended, the minister informed and added that a State Level UGC project screening committee will monitor all the projects, schemes and funding under UGC.
In response to a question raised by MLA S Ginsuanhau, Deputy Chief Minister/Home Minister Gaikhangam said that SoO (Suspension of Operations) has not yet been extended beyond August 21, 2014 .
The SoO could not be extended with the KNO and UPF following the inability to reach an agreement on the meeting venue.
