State Govt signs MoU with EESL

Imphal, May 24 2017:
In order to save energy by introducing innovative
models, the State Government and Energy Efficiency
Services Limited have signed an MoU yesterday.
The MoU was signed by Additional Chief Secretary
(MAHUD) Dr J Suresh Babu and EESL Regional Manager
Rounak Bandopadhyay in the presence of MAHUD Minister
Th Shyamkumar.
EESL will conduct a survey on water pumps used in the
State urban areas and submit a report to the State Government.
Based on the report, water pumps which absorb access
electrical energy will be replaced by energy saving pumps and
EESL will bear the maintenance cost of these pumps for 7
years.
After the energy saving pumps are installed, the significant
amount of money saved in the first three years will be given
to EESL by the State Government though the same amount
will be reimbursed by the Urban Development Ministry.
