TSE presents a labourer cum Class XII topper

Leikai , who secured the 4th
position in the Commerce
stream of the Higher
Secondary Examination
conducted by COHSEM,
has said that he would
continue working to
support his education in
case his family's economic
condition does not improve.
When The Sangai
Express went to meet
Loyangamba at SUK
office, Moirangkhom, he
was working at a building
construction at
Singjamei and SUK
members had to bring
him to the office for the
meeting.
Speaking to The
Sangai Express,
Loyangamba said that he
wants to credit his
mother, Thounaojam (o)
Ichal, his teachers and
near and dear ones for
his achievement and
emotionally conveyed that
his mother always
supported him and was
always by his side while
he studied.
He said that even after
COHSEM results came
out yesterday, he had
initially thought of giving
up his studies owing to
their poor economic
conditions.
He said that after
seeing his mother, he
finally decided to work
whatever jobs he can find
so as to support his aim
of pursuing Bachelor in
Commerce at DM College
and complete Master in
Business Administration
to become an entrepreneur.
Loyangamba further
expressed gratitude to the
teachers of CC Higher Secondary School and said that he was able to
achieve his feat because of the support and guidance of his teachers.
He said that he used to go to school by means of passenger
vehicles and often used to consult the teachers regarding his
subjects and lessons.
He also said that he opted of Commerce out of his love for
financial calculations.
Loyangamba began taking up small works and labours to
support his family and education as well since class IX.
He
used to work in house constructions during holidays.
"I worked during the holidays after class XI session and
earned enough to support myself through class XII", he added.
Loyangamba said that he studied around three hours during
school session and for around four hours during the examination
preparations and his mother always used to be by his
side.
If one is not afraid to work, one can achieve one's
dreams.
Even if one is very poor, if one tries really hard, then
eventually one will succeed", he said.
Loyangamba is the second of four siblings.
He has one an
elder sister, an elder brother and a younger sister none of who
have studied upto class X.
His parents, Thounaojam Banamali and Ichal, earns and
support the family by taking up small works and jobs they can
find.
Loyangamba studied from class I to VII at Keibi High
School, from class VIII to X at Lamjing Meira Sindam Sang,
Pourabi.
He secured 70.2 percent in his class X exam and
went on to study at CC Higher Secondary School.
He also became an Imphal East executive member of SUK
from 2016 .
