Active caseload drops to 61, one dies in Kpi

Even as one more life was claimed by the dreaded COVID-19 in Kangpokpi district on Monday, the number of active cases in the district has declined significantly to 61 from 100-plus a week ago.
The fatality count from COVID-19 in Kangpokpi stands at 32 as on Tuesday.
A 74-year-old man from Motbung Aithuhveng identified as Sehtinkhup alias Paseh Sitlhou succumbed to the virus on Monday around 7:30 pm.
He was later buried at Motbung cemetery following strict COVID protocols.
As per the official COVID-19 situation report from the district surveillance officer, the active caseload in the district dropped to 61 while nine positive cases were detected and eight patients including six from home isolation and another two from COVID Care Centre, Leikop were discharged on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, a woman health worker on duty at COVID Care Centre, Leikop from Kangpokpi district headquarters was reportedly found positive on Tuesday and she was referred for home isolation.
COVID Task Force Kangpokpi volunteers sealed the residence of the COVID positive health worker.
The task force volunteers also detained few women vegetable sellers without COVID Free Certificates and brought them to the district hospital and got them tested.
They were all found to be negative.
