TASO submits memorandum to CM

The Tousem Area Students' Organisation (TASO), Tamenglong has submitted a memorandum regarding the development and welfare for the people of Tousem Sub-Division, Tamenglong district.
A press release issued by president and general secretary of Tousem Area Students' Organisation stated that Tousem Sub-Division has been isolated from other places of the State concerning many Government's initiatives and schemes for development.
The memorandum submitted by the students' body has highlighted several issues and problems like lack of proper Government administrative office at the Sub-Divisional Headquarters.
The students' body stated that the office of the SDO which was shifted to Tamei/ Tousem guest house at Tamenglong headquarters still functions from there and urged the State Government to shift the office to Tousem Sub Division headquarters before August 15 .
Regarding the Tousem police station which is presently posted at DC complex, Tamenglong headquarters, the students body has also urged to shift the Tousem police station back to the Sub-Division headquarters in order to maintain the law and order situation in the area.
The State Government had planned to install the United Bank of India at Tousem Sub Division, however, it is disappointing to learn that the bank will be installed at Tamenglong headquarters instead.
TASO urged the State areas.
Government not to be partial and to reallocate the place for opening the bank, "Lack of telecommunication tower in the Sub-Division has worsened the lives of the people at Tousem Sub-Division", it added.
The memorandum also addressed the pathetic and deplorable road condition of Tamenglong-Tousem-Haflong road and Kaiphundai-Tousem road.
The authority concerned has been urged to look into the situation and take up necessary measures for proper road transportation in the said areas.
TASO also highlighted the improper education system in the Sub-Division and stated that the most of the teachers posted at the Sub-Dision are not stationed and many substitute teachers are under class X level.
It further stated that the education system will worsen if the present system is not checked at the earliest.
Regarding the transfer and posting of offices, the students' body has urged to stay the transfer of doctors, nurses, and other officers.
TASO has urged the State Government and the authority concerned to look into the matters and initiate the developmental Works in the larger interest of the people.
