Decomposed body found

Kangpokpi, July 05 2018:
An unidentified decomposed body was found in Gundung river bank near Molvom bridge this morning and later deposited at RIMS morgue by Kangpokpi police for post mortem and identification.
The decomposed body was attired in an adult diaper and a brown pajama type pant.
It cannot be ascertained whether it is of a male or female.
Kangpokpi police recovered the decomposed body from the river bank located near Molvom bridge under Champhai sub division in Kangpokpi district.
It is located around 1 Km from Keithelmanbi Military Colony.
According to the people of Kalapahar some people belonging to Christian community and other like Rai, etc.
from Nepali community of Kalapahar were buried near the river bank.
Every year during monsoon season, some buried bodies from the burial ground near the river bank were washed away by the strong current of the river and the family members used to identify them later.
However, in this case, some local denizens who came forward for identification of the decomposed body at Kangpokpi police failed to identify it.
Later, in the afternoon, Kangpokpi police deposited the decomposed body at RIMS morgue for post mortem and identification.
Meanwhile, Chunglenmang Kipgen, MCS, SDO Champhai has appealed the people of Kalapahar and Keithelmanbi to bury dead bodies properly in such a position that they cannot be washed away by the current of the river.
