Unity is an instrument to attain disturbance free educational zone: Minister

Education Minister Thokchom Radheshyam conveyed that unity in the entire sphere and among every stakeholder of the society is the biggest instrument to attain a disturbance free educational zone.
The Minister was speaking as chief guest at the public meeting of the 11th "Disturbance Free Educational Zone Demand Day, 2018", organized by the Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen, Palace Compound.
A mass rally participated by more than 4500 students from 65 different schools and colleges was flagged off by the Minister from Khuman Lampak, Sport Complex.
The rally passed through Minuthong, Hatta, Chekon and concluded at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen and was followed by a public meeting.
The Minister said that since 2008, there has been a massive change in education with high increase in number of children enrolling in schools.
The increase is also witnessed in Government schools owing to support from the stakeholders in education sector.
In democracy, every citizen is part of the Government and when there is unity towards a common goal to make education a free zone, the goal can be achieved.
Seeking cooperation and support from all the stakeholders, the Minister said that every issue can be solved through dialogues.
He also called for ideas, suggestions and views for the betterment of the education system.
Radheshyam maintained that the Government will address the issues of teachers' shortage and constructing quality school buildings.
Digitization of service books, he said, is one of the major steps taken up by the Government to verify retiring teachers and pre-plan appointment of new teachers.
Th Radheshyam asserted that a peaceful and vibrant atmosphere is necessary to nurture the children and encourage them to become innovative and creative.
He added that peace and harmony should be maintained in the State so that children can grow up in a constructive environment without any disturbance.
He urged that it is the duty of every individual to maintain a safe and secure society for children to grow up in a productive world.
He said children must be allowed to grow freely and not pressurized them to become a data base.
Children should discover their own innate abilities and while the relationship between teachers and students should be healthy so that students feel free to approach the teachers.
He appealed to all the teachers to become the teacher that they had once aspired to become.
He emphasized on the need to encourage the children rather than disheartening them for their inability but inspire them to have a positive attitude towards life.
MLA, Moirang Assembly Constituency P Sharatchandra Singh, dignitaries, teachers, DESAM president Salam Akash, AMCTA president M Lokendro Singh, AMGACTA president L Baleshor Singh, students and members of civil organizations attended the meeting.
