Jiribam, June 11 2021:
Finalisation of wages for only 42 days against 61 days they had worked during the months of November and December, 2020 has saddened entire staff of Covid Care Centre (CCC), Residential Model School, Jiribam.
On behalf of entire staff of the CCC, staff nurse Jugeshori Laishram told media persons that authority concerned must give reason for non-payment of wages for the remaining 19 days.
She said that nine staff nurses and 12 MTS have been rendering services at CCC opened at Residential Model School, Jiribam.
These 21 staff have been working at the CCC from August 19, 2020 with strict protocol and norms after it was inaugurated on August 18, 2020 and there was no way any staff could do at their behest.
Entitled wages for all the staff were distributed till the month of October, 2020 but the same entitlements for the months of November and December, 2020 were finalised for only 42 days against the mandated 61 days, she said adding that there was no clarification for deduction of wages for 19 days.
CMO concerned has been intimated about the matter through an application and copies of the same submitted to MS and DC Jiribam.
However, response of CMO Jiribam on the matter was unacceptable, Jugeshori Laishram said.
Another staff nurse Nongthombam Inaotombi said that she along with 20 other staff of the CCC have been rendering their services as frontline warriors fearlessly when people fear of moving out of homes.
She urged authority concerned to look into deduction of 19 days' wages and clear doubt of the staff on the matter.
