Security forces were in a middle of a critical situation.
It would not be right to blame the security forces alone for the incident.
The Govt had already sent two companies of security forces to Moreh after the incident.
Plans are also afoot to deploy more security forces at Moreh on permanent basis, he said.
Dy CM Gaikhangam earlier attended the launching programme of a 'distinctive press jacket' as the chief guest at Manipur Press Club.
For the first time in the State, the All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) launched the 'distinctive press jacket' specially designed for media persons of the State to differentiate press persons from the general public today at Manipur Press Club.
The function was attended by Director of IPR Somorjit Salam as the guest of honour and president of AMWJU Wangkhemcha Shamjai was the functional president.
The jacket can easily differentiate press persons from the general public but great care must be taken by the media fraternity as antisocial elements could use it wrongly, cautioned the chief guest in his speech.
He encouraged the steps taken up by the union in bringing such precautionary measures for media persons.
Nowhere in the country provide such jacket specially tailored for the media and it would prove very effective in distinguishing who are actual journalists, he added.
Gaikhangam stated that the relation with media persons and the State force has been cordial and very good so far but there has been some few isolated incidents in the past.
"Such incidents have been resolved", he added.
Further he denounced the practice of mob justice in the State and urged media not to encouraged such issues.
In this crucial juncture where there is high possibility of losing our territorial integrity he urged people to prioritize the demands as other issues may sideline the current situation the State is facing.
Meanwhile, functional president Shamjai stated that the jacket will help journalists in performing their duties without any restrictions from the public and would reduce incidents of mistaken identity.
Somorjit also encouraged the steps taken up by AMWJU.
