The six-member Planning Commission team, that arrived on a three day State visit on August 3 left for the national capital today.
The Commission team headed by its Senior Advisor Jayati Chandra (IAS) had arrived in the State to take stock of implementation and progress of numerous development schemes being taken up in the State.
Apart from the Central team making spot inspection of various project sites in corners of the State, the delegation prior to leaving Imphal called on the Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh and reportedly suggested that ongoing works be completed at the earliest so that people could reap benefit of such projects.
Among other places the Commission team during their stay in the State toured Moreh on their last leg yesterday and assessed existing infrastructure of Moreh Hospital such as X-ray machine, operation theatre, malaria unit, immunization room etc.
At the Trade Centre of the border town, the team inspected building structure of the trade facility and advised officials concerned to increase green cover of the campus through more tree and shrub plants.
They also interacted with officials of Moreh Customs station during which revenue generation is said to have figured prominently.
On their way back from Moreh, Jayati Chandra and her official team scanned facilities in Thoubal district such as the district hospital, mini secretariat and other Government institutions.
State Government officials including Principal Secretary (Home/Planning) DS Poonia, Secretary (Comm/Ind) PC Lawmkunga Deputy Commissioner (chandel) Ashok Kumar, Director (Planning) K Mangi and SP (chandel) also accompanied the Central team who also met district level officials, and representatives of village bodies and NGOs.
