Chiru Students' Union, Nagaland condemned the conduct of the Kuki underground groups, particularly KNF (president) Sentinthang group for forcibly taking signatures of Chiru leaders on the issue of naming of waterfall.
A statement issued by the president of the union, SD Sekhongam said that Chiru Union president Kh Rengkhotung, general secretary and Sadu Chiru Village Authority were invited at Motbung in connection with Sadu Chiru waterfall for negotiation.
The UG group however forcibly took the signature of the Chiru leaders threatening them with the consequences of Sadu Chiru village if they do not sign.
The statement alleged that self styled KNF(MC) and KNF (Zougam) cadres also collected taxes at Dolang and Khoirok villages.
The UG groups also asked to join the outfits to the youths of the areas.
When the youths refused, the statement added, the cadres threatened them with guns to wear uniforms and took photographs.
The statement urged the UG groups to restraint from such acts in order to prevail peace between the communities.
It also demanded for clarification from the outfits in this regard within a week.
