54th Foundation Day of AMSU observed at Jiribam

The 54th Foundation Day of AMSU organized by All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU), District Committee, Jiribam was observed at AMSU Conferance Hall, Babupara, Jiribam today.
The celebratory function was attended by L Romen Singh, President, JDO, Jiribam; W Deemocha Singh, President, AMSU District Committee; Y Sanjit Singh, Advisor, AMSU District Committee, Jiribam; L Athouba Singh, Vice-President, AMSU H/Q, Manipur; Ph Nilakanta Singh, President, AAMSU, C/C, Assam as predidium members.
The function began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp followed by hoisting of Union's flag by the chief guest while L Sima Chanu, Women Affair Secy, AMSU District Committee delivered the welcome address and Th Thanil, Gen Secy, AMSU District Committee, Jiribam delivered the keynote speech.
A two-minute silence was also observed as part of the observance function.
Speaking at the occasion, chief guest L Romen Singh said that AMSU was instituted by the then student leaders for the security and the protection of territorial integrity of Manipur.
W Deemocha singh said that majoirty of schools in Jiribam are marred by absence of teachers and lack of sincerity on the part of the teachers.
