Cong trying to abolish NLCPR: BJP

The Congress is trying its best to abolish the Non-Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR) which was introduced by the BJP during the rule of its National Democratic Alliance (NDA) at the Centre primarily to develop the infrastructure of the North Eastern States, BJP has charged.
This was reportedly stated by Narendra Modi, the Prime Ministerial candidate of BJP during a meeting of the party's National executive office bearers held at in New Delhi yesterday.
Informing Hueiyen Lanpao over the phone about the details of the proceedings of the meeting, M Ashwinikumar, General Secretary of BJP, Manipur Pradesh, who is presently at Delhi, conveyed that during the meeting, Narendra Modi said that the act of abolishing NLCPR which has been specially designed for the North Eastern States, is a clear indication that the Congress party never thinks for the welfare of the people of the North East.
Narendra Modi also stated that BJP has a broad and far sighted outlook.
The party, while considering for the welfare of SC and ST communities of the country, had taken up various developmental programmes including special programmes for the North East and Jammu and Kashmir, Ashwinikumar added.
The party's Prime Ministerial candidate further stated that the Congress would suffer a crushing defeat in the coming Lok Sabha elections while the BJP is most likely turn up victorious in about 272 seats.
The BJP will not only turn up victorious in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh where the party is ruling presently, but also in Rajasthan, Delhi and Mizoram where Congress rules, M Ashwinikumar further informed.
Thounaojam Chaoba, President of BJP, Manipur Pradesh and its General Secretary (Organisation) S Ramananda Sharma, were also present during the meeting wherein all the State Presidents of BJP took part.
During the meeting, Th Chaoba highlighted the issues prevailing in Manipur and submitted a written application in this regard.
