CPI commits to abolish corruption

The Communist Party of India (CPI) has come up with its election manifesto in connection with the ensuing 10th Manipur State Legislative Assembly election scheduled on January 28, where the party has committed itself to abolish corruption in the state and bring about good governance.
The election manifesto which has altogether 34 points was released at its office at Irabot Bhawan by Dr M Nara, CPI, Manipur State Council and Secretary, L Sotinkumar today.
The election manifesto which makes various promises to the people of the state include safeguarding the territorial integrity of the state, removal of AFSPA, ending the insurgency problem in the state through political dialogue.
The manifesto also made various commitments and changes to be brought on various issues including health, sports and culture, women and children and old aged people.
The manifesto assures the people of the state that the party will take up various composite schemes in the hills for its development.
It will also work to strengthen the District Council and build a law which is in tune with the customs and traditions of the tribal people.
The party will also make a law whereby greater autonomy is given to the states and to stop outsiders from settling in the state.
It also promises to improve the economic condition of the state by mobilizing all the resources available in the state.
It will also include Manipur in the industrial and road map of India by developing the handloom and handicrafts and economic activities of the people of the state.
Coming down to the transport and communication of the state, the party pledges to developed the NHs of the state at the earliest and also to set up a Highway Protection Force.
It also promises to construct railway lines from Imphal to Moreh.
The party also promises ample opportunities to the people of the state in every sphere.
The education system of the state will be reform.
The amount of funds released in connection with the health policies of the state will be increased.
It will also work for the promotion of Manipuri language which has been included in the 8th Schedule.
