Senapati, June 04 2021:
Tadubi MLA N Kayisii took stock of the Covid-19 situation in his constituency on Friday.
The MLA along with SDO (Tadubi) Ningreingam Leisan also visited the Community Home Isolation Centre at Hill College, Tadubi.
Later, the team visited PHC Maram and Tadubi and interacted with the MOs and staff of the centres.
MLA Kayisii also got first-hand information about awareness and precautionary measures taken up against Covid-19 by the authorities of some villages in the constituency.
He pointed out that the personal visit and interaction with the villagers to get direct information on Covid-19 situation is necessary as many people in the rural areas are not well informed, leading to apprehensions and misconception about the pandemic.
On interacting with the MOs and staff of both the PHCs, Kayisii commended the medical teams for doing their best despite the many challenges and limitations faced by them.
It may be mentioned that PHC Tadubi, which is one of the oldest health centres in the district, is run by three doctors and five nurses with no lab technician and Grade- IV staff.
The centre has only one single Oxygen B-Type cylinder and is short of many other basic facilities such as PPEs, medicines, etc.
This PHC is catering largely to people of both Mao and Tadubi AC apart from many travellers in the area.
There are five doctors and six nurses along with some other supporting staff posted at Maram PHC which has one ambulance and an oxygen (B-Type) cylinder.
Former minister Kayisii informed that 362 and 325 people have been tested for Covid-19 so far at Tadubi and Maram PHCs respectively.
There was only one Covid-19 fatality in the constituency.
On Covid-19 vaccination drive, Kayisii said that about 1500 people have now received the jab from both the health centres.
He also assured of looking into the immediate requirements and necessities of the two health centres to combat the pandemic and exhorted the medical team to uphold the spirit of service to save lives even at this critical juncture.
Later in the evening, MLA Kayisii handed over some medicines to the villagers of Oklong village, many of whom are said to be suffering from common cold, cough and fever.
