Imphal, June 03 2014:
Refuting the media report on her resentment over denial to meet media at Patiala Court, New Delhi on May 28, human right activist Irom Chanu Sharmila has clarified that her resentment was not over denial to meet the waiting media persons but the manner in which the authority there treated her.
In a hand written letter sent to Hueiyen Lanpao in this regard, Sharmila said that contrarily to the report, media persons, students and social activists were given the opportunity to come and interact with her for more than 1 hour.
Her resentment was against the conduct of the authority in keeping her waiting for long hours at a most inappropriate reeks with urine maintaining that the judge to preside over her case had not arrived and her case hearing was listed on no.17 of the day.
Sharmila said that she was also made to climb the staircase of the three-storeyed building and after the case hearing she was taken out not through the main gate.
