Covid-19 infects two more, four discharged

As the fourth wave of the Covid-19 pandemic continue to linger without posing much threat, government bulletins on Saturday reported two new cases of Covid-19 from Imphal West district out of 153 samples tested in the last 24 hours, thus, registering a positivity rate of 1.3 per cent.
Saturday also reported four recoveries following which, number of active cases came down to 27 out of which 16 are in home isolation.
There are 38 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 62 in RIMS.
No death case was reported in the last 24 hours and the death toll stands at 2148 including seven CAPF personnel.
So far, the virus has infected 1,39,805 individuals including 5,022 CAPF personnel.
In the last 24 hours, 125 D-type and 10 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities and 2172 vaccine doses administered which took the cumulative number of vaccinated population to 16,41,999, out of which 13,22,776 had received the second dose and 2,63,190 precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (49817), Imphal East (32034), Thoubal (10293), Churachandpur (11285), Kangpokpi (3184), Tamenglong (3497), Bishnupur (9978), Senapati (2547), Ukhrul (3366), Kakching (6976), Chandel (2794), Noney (1173), Tengnoupal (1211), Jiribam (1118), Kamjong (1053), and Pherzawl (477) .
