The All Manipur Christian Organisation (AMCO) has lauded Naga civil organisations for rendering a Good Samaritan work by providing food and logistic support to people from Manipur who were fleeing from their work places in elsewhere India recently.
Mentionably, rendering the yeomen service since August 21 and continued for a week to the home-bound students and people of Manipur from elsewhere India, the United Naga Council (UNC), AllNaga Students Association, Manipur (ANSAM), Naga Peoples Organisation (NPO), Senapati District Students Association (SDSA), Mao Council, Karong and Senapati Towm Committee, Senapati District Women Association (SDWA) and others provided snacks and other comforts at Mao Gate in the Manipur-Nagaland border.
On Saturday, AMCO president Rev S.Prim Vaiphei said they had met on September 4 over certain issues confronting the Christians in Manipur and lauded the Naga civil bodies for the Mao Gate service to the traumatised Manipur people.
Quoting scriptures from John 3:34 which says, "Love one another", the AMCO said today that the people of Manipur had faced hardship while fleeing their work places from cities recently but the act of the Naga civil bodies had served as a balm that had soothed the fleeing Manipuris.
"We hope the good work will continue and also the Christian approaches will be adopted to meet the solution to the various problems affecting and afflicting the communities in Manipur society today," said Rev S Prim Vaiphei.
It can be noted here that the surprise students and others who had fled their work places in southern cities of India had experienced a welcome treat from these Naga organisations at Mao Gate on August 21 .
More than 150 people were accorded and given snacks at the relief camp opened by these Naga organisations at the border town on the first day.
Leaders of the Naga organisations at Mao Gate had opened the relief camp not only to provide snacks and other comforts but to act as a morale booster to the already shocked and traumatised students and people who are fleeing to their respective home state.
These Naga organisations also acted as guides while looking for vehicles to various destinations.
