A one day Archives Awareness Programme and Record Exhibition organised by the Manipur State Archives, Department of Art and Culture was held today at Hungbung Baptist Church, Ukhrul.

Many persons in the valley have contributed old manuscripts and records to the archives in their custody which have helped in studying the past history of the state.
However the matter is not same in the hill areas.
Many find it difficult to find old manuscripts in the hills since they have no proper record keeping habits.
