Eden Resource Home looks for government aid

Founder and Secretary of Eden Resource Home, Tolloi Junetun in Ukhrul District, VS Tanmila, who has been honoured with Glory of India Award by Global Achievers' Foundation on June 20 in Bangkok is looking for help from the government in running the Home successfully.
Disclosing to Hueiyen Lanpao in an interview at Nagaram, VS Tanmila said that the Home has not received any kind of assistance from the government.
She informed that many children from the Home have excelled in their lives and became successful people.
Right now, the Home is providing shelter to 53 orphans.
Children in the Home are taught upto class VI in residential school of the Home.
Since the residential school of the Home has only upto class VI, the children are sent to Private schools in Ukhrul district after class VI .
Tanmila said that all the expenses for the children are met from her own earning and helps from her friends.
She had already approached the Ministry of Tribal Affairs with a project to set up a residential school in the Home.
Besides, she had also approached the State Social Welfare Department to provide nutritional support for the children.
Unfortunately, the Home has not received any kind of help from both the state and Central government till now, despite the fact that the Governor of Manipur had recognised the Home as a Fit Institution in 2009, she lamented.
In recognition of her selfless service, VS Tanmila has been so far honoured with National Status Award for Intellectual Development, Rastriya Vikas Ratan Award, Excellent Social Activity Award, India Gold Star Award, Gold Star Asia International Award and Asia Pacific National Award.
