Jamwal leaves, Sambit to arrive shortly

Imphal, June 15 2021:
As the exercise for appointment of a new state president of BJP continues, more and more central leaders are visiting the state to take opinions of different party leaders and cell leaders.
BJP northeast in-charge Ajay Jamwal, who arrived in Imphal on Monday, left on Tuesday after meeting chief minister N Biren.
After his departure, the party's Manipur in-charge Sambit Patra is next to visit the state and he is likely to arrive her by June 20 .
Sambit Patra is likely to stay for a couple of days to assess the functioning and activities of the party in the state and consult with various party leaders for preparing a final report on the appointment to the post of the party's state president, which remains vacant after the former president professor S Tiken died of Covid-19 .
Sambit Patra is likely to attend the semi virtual executive meet of BJP Manipur Pradesh, which will be held on June 22.BJP president JP Nadda would be inaugurating the meet virtually from the national capital.
The executive meet will be a crucial meeting for the party as it will discuss the forthcoming 2022 state assembly election.
The party is also likely to appoint its new state president by the end of the executive meet, according to a source.
