Senapati, April 08 2021:
A 3 day training programme for nurses on 'Mental Health' began yesterday at CMO Conference Hall, Senapati.
The training programme was attended by Kh Ratna Devi, Deputy Director, (PHN), Government of Manipur along with 3 master trainers specialised in psychiatric nursing and presently serving as staff of Mental Health Nursing Department as the resource persons.
15 nurses/CHOs of different health institutions of the district are reportedly participating in the said training.
Speaking as a master trainer, Kh Ratna Devi stated that the training was organised by the Deputy Director (PHN) under the Medical Directorate, Manipur.
The training aims to provide relief to the frontline workers like medical nurses who have attended Covid patients, the stigma that they have and the worry on whether the virus would spread to their family members and their locality, which in turns affects their mental health, she added.
Feeling the need of the hour, the training was aimed to give such awareness to the frontline workers with permission from the Director, Health Services, asserted the Deputy Director.
The training programme was organised to cope up with the pre and post Covid patients.
Kh Ratna Devi further stated that after the training programme, all the CHOs would be able to deliver mental health care to all individuals who are in need of such services due to the Covid pandemic.
