Additional security forces of over 340 personnel will be detailed at over 32 strategic points in the periphery of the Assembly complex as the authority is all set for the winter session of the Assembly which would have two seating in a span of two days.
The session will be started at 11 am with state Governor, Gurbachan Jagat addressing the house as the session is the first for the year 2010.Before the session begins, newly elected legislature, E Suraj who won in the recently conducted bye-election to the 14-Yaiskul Assembly Constituency will be sworn in as member of the house at 10.30 am.
Mention may be made that in the bye-election to Yaiskul A/C, conducted on December 19 last which was held to fill the vacant post of a seat lying vacant after the dead of sitting MLA E Kunjeshwor, his son E Suraj was elected.
Imphal west district police have beefed up security in the surrounding of the Assembly complex as precautionary measures to prevent any untoward incident during the session with additional police personnel called out from various police stations of the district.
In addition to the personnel of the Imphal west police, around 100 armed and unarmed personnel of the Manipur Rifles and IRB have been called out to guard the Assembly complex above the police personnel who have been signed on security duty at the Assembly.
With the state security personnel above, over 340 security men will be detailed around the Assembly complex.
They will be detailed at the periphery of the Assembly complex including high building in the surrounding of the complex.
A company each of 1st MR, 7th MR and 4th IRB have been called out apart from 70 state security personnel undergoing refresher training at Manipur Police Training School (MPTS), Pangei.
Among them 30 are riflemen undergoing special fresher course and 40 are obtaining refresher course.
They will take post at 8 am everyday till the end of the two day session.
