Cong will retain power at Centre: Ngamthang

Dismissing the claims of Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP), the Irrigation and Flood Control Minister Ngamthang Haokip has categorically stated that the Indian National Congress (INC) would enjoy landslide victory in the coming Lok Sabha Election and retain power at the Centre.
He was speaking as the Chief Guest of a one-day discussion programme on "National Food Security Bill-2013" organized by Saitu Block Congress Committee at the CC Hall, Gamnom Saparmeina today.
Minister Ngamthang further said that no other political party other than Congress could rule for more than two consecutive terms at the Centre.
But the Congress Party would retain power at the State for many more terms in the future, he averred.
The Congress Party has been in power in the State for three consecutive terms with the people's support.
The party would continue to serve the people with many more welfare and development programmes and projects, the IFC Minister enjoined.
He further announced that the State Government would take up road expansion and development works in all districts for Rs.300 crores.
The Congress Party is striving for equitable development in both hill and valley regions, Ngamthang added.
Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister M Okendro highlighted the importance and details of National Food Security Bill-2013 to the people.
The discussion programme was also attended by President of Sadar Hills District Congress Committee Thangkham Misao, Chairman of Sadar Hills ADC Haokholal Hangsing, President of Sadar Hills Mahila Congress Tinkholhing Vaiphei and President of Saitu Indian Youth Congress Chungsei Haokip.
