Body of V Liansangmung claimed, ATSUM calls off stir

All Tribal Students' Union (ATSUM) and the State Government has brought an amicable solution yesterday regarding the case of V Liansangmung, who died in a road mishap on January 23 and as such ATSUM has called off its proposed agitation.
Earlier, ATSUM drew the attention of the State Government to resolve the matter amicably at the earliest failing which it had warned to launched various form of agitation.
With the swift initiative of Minister V Hangkhanlian, an amicable settlement has arrived in a meeting between the accused party/representatives and the victim's family including ATSUM, said general secretary of the student body, Seiboi Haokip.
He continued that the deceased body was also received by the family members after the settlement of the case and his burial ceremony was conducted accordingly while the proposed agitation over the issue has also been dropped by ATSUM.
He also said that ATSUM is very much grateful to the Minister and the State Government for their sincerity and swift action while expressing their heartfelt thanks to the Oil Tanker Association Manipur for their initiative in resolving the case amicably.
