Biennial GBM of AMCTA held

Along with holding election, the Biennial General Body Meeting of All Manipur College Teacher Association (AMCTA) was held at Manipur College here yesterday.
The event was attended by by S Kunjabihari, former member of Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC); L Ranjit Roy, former president of AMCTA; Dr Kh Jayentakumar, principal of Manipur College and L Randhoni, president of AMCTA as Presidium Members.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Jayentakumar noted that there have been some apparent lapses in appointment of regular principal on the part of MPSC and pointed out that cases have been already filed at High Court and Supreme Court to rectify the matter.
He also said the role of AMCTA in this regard is of paramount importance and underlined the need for more attention on the matter for early amicable solution.
L Randhoni noted that rules and guidelines framed much earlier are now not out of sync with the present trend.
So, taking into consideration of this fact, AMCTA has been trying to come up with corrective measures to bridge the gap.
She informed that the college teachers are yet to receive Special Compensatory Allowance and TA from the State Government which is against the norms of UGC.
In the election held, Dr N Somendro Singh and M Loken were respectively elected as the new secretary and president of AMCTA.
