CPI thanks all for bandh support

Manipur State Council Communist Party of India (MSC-CPI) has extended its gratitude to all for supporting their 12-hour general strike that ended today evening at 5 .
During the bandh, there were no passenger bus services, educational institutes were closed, attendance in government offices was considerably low and business establishments were affected, according to a statement jointly signed by Dr M Nara Singh, Secretary of MSC-CPI and N Mangi Singh, Chairman of June Struggle Committee, MSC-CPI.
The statement also said that Dr Baduruddin, Executive Member of MSC-CPI; Khumukcham Joykumar, Secretary of Patsoi Local; Longjam Somorendro and Md Ibomcha, Ex-pradhan of Moijing Gram Panchayat were beaten by police were arrested by City Police.
While expressing regret over the inconveniences caused during the general strike, the statement maintained that the party was compelled to call the bandh in a democratic manner to demonstrate their protest against the atrocities meted out by the police personnel to CPI activists during the yesterday's rally.
