KYA gears up to celebrate Sapphire Jubilee

Keithelmanbi Youth Association (KYA) established with an aim to uplift the youths of Keithelmanbi and served as a strong pillar of the village in 1953 decided to organize its 65 years Jubilee.
The decision to celebrate the 65 years of its establishment was collectively taken in a joint meeting of the village youths with Keithelmanbi Village Authority and women wings on January 27, where a committee was also formed to spearhead the grand celebration.
Local MDC Lamminthang Kipgen, Lalminsei Lhouvum, ex-President KYA and Lalneo Singsit, Secretary, Social and Culture, KYA were elected as Chairman, secretary and finance secretary respectively while Lenminthang Kipgen and Len Haokip were elected as information and publicity secretary.
The joint meeting also resolved to celebrate the Sapphire Jubilee on April 27 and 28 .
Keithelmanbi Village situated along the National Highway-2 in Champhai Sub Division of Kangpokpi district is one of the biggest and oldest villages among the Thadou tribe of the Kuki community comprising 800 households at present.
Meanwhile, the Sapphire Committee has sought the acknowledgement of the community leaders, politicians, elected members, bureaucrats, CSOs and various youth association in the State while appealing the people of Manipur including ex-members of the association to join them on the mementos ceremony.
