Foundation stone for Rani Gaidinliu laid

The foundation stone for a guest house to be dedicated in the name of Rani Gaidinliu was laid at Nungkao village of Tamenglong district on Thursday by the works minister, K Ranjit.
The guest house is to be constructed with an estimated cost of Rs 1.5 crore.
The guest house will have two storey is targeting to complete by October or November at the latest.
The minister gave a strong instruction to the contractors to ensure meeting the target expressing his desire to inaugurate it during his tenure as works minister.
Speaking after laying the foundation stone, Ranjit said that another objective of the construction of the guest house is to strengthen the love bond among the different communities residing in the state.
Government takes up the step for construction of the guest house as a mark of respect to the freedom fighter who also fought against injustice during the British rule in the state.
Further speaking on the occasion, the works minister hopes that whatever it may be handled by BRO or state PWD, one day the NH-53 would be an all season accessible road.
When the highway starts using as lifeline of the state, eyes of the highway traveler would be caught by the signboard indicating location of the Rani Gaidinliu Guest House.
This will help keeping the freedom fighter's name in the mind of the people forever.
