A HOUSEWIFE who was picked up by the cadres of the proscribed KYKL in connection with drug traffic case died allegedly in the custody of the outfit yesterday, according to a local report.
Family of the deceased women named Salam ongbi Pishakmacha (48) wife of S Jatra of Nongmaikhong Awang Leikai came to know when the family member who went to take back her after her abductors informed them to take her stating that she received severe wounds and in bad condition.
Her abductors who brought her death body in a boat handed over to the family stating that she succumbed when beaten up twice by a stick.
The deceased woman who, the proscribed KYKL clarified that she was picked up by the outfit in connection with a drug traffic case was survived by her husband, four daughters and a son.
She was earning livelihood by doing small business at Moreh.
According to family, she failed to return back after she went out from home in the morning of November 26 with Rs 20,000 stating that she was going to Moreh for her business.
Meanwhile, deputy commander, Lalhaba Bn, KYKL in a statement while clarifying that Pishakmacha died yesterday at around 4 pm after she complaint of breathing problem at around 2 pm yesterday has expressed shock and shared to the sorrow of the bereaved family.
The statement while stating that the outfit has been continuing its drive against drug abuse and traffic has claimed that the Lanhaba Bn had exposed a big racket of drug traffickers with the rounding up of two persons based on specific input on November 27 last.
Following the disclosure made by the two namely Heisanam Ibohal (37) son of late Damulo of Chandrapur Mayai Leikai Keibul and Oinam Yaiskul son of Amuthoi of Chandrapur Maning Leikai, the Lanhaba Bn able to caught four kg of herion number four(4).With this, the group also came to know a clue of big racket drug traffickers.
In the group 11 persons were involved it said adding that most of them including the deceased Pishakmacha surrendered to the group and interrogation to extract more clues have been conducted.
After the group conducted trial, those who surrendered to them have been freed without imposing at punishment and handed over to their respective families.
In the meantime, in an unfortunate incident, Pishakpmacha who was with the group after completing interrogation all of a sudden complaint of un-well health and breathing problem and died while another person named Oinam ongbi Radhamani who also complaint of breathing problem have been handed over to her husband today.
While disclosing that the outfit had earlier announced hard punishment to those drug traffickers in the state without warning to four persons namely Thounoujam Shyamkumar of Thounoujam Bazar Pukhri Acouba Mamang, Athokpam Ingo son of Tijendro of Top Makha Leikai, Huirem Suraj alias Wangoiba son of Wangoi Leiphrakpam Maning Leikai and Tongbram Tiken alias Ibomcha of Kairenphabi.
While Pukhrambam Raju of Moirang Lamkhai Patlou and Ningthoujam Jugin who have been found involved in a big drug traffic racket have been asked to meet with the authorities of the outfit within December 10 or face punishment to be given by them.
