BJP Manipur Pradesh president Dr H Borobabu today officially announced joining of 19 leaders of RJD Manipur Unit including its president and former Chief Minister Wahengbam Nipamacha to BJP.
Apart from Wahengbam Nipamacha, some of the other prominent RJD leaders who have change allegiance to BJP are ex-MLA and party secretary S Natum, vice president W Zoram, treasurer Th Chaoba Singh, general secretary B Shanti Sharma, general secretary W Dilajit Singh, secretary Amu Kamei, secretary Th Ibotombi Singh, president of the party's Sadar Hills unit LS Haokip, Ukhrul district president Andrew Shimrah, Imphal West-II district president H Chandra Singh, councillor of Samurou Nagar Panchayat ward no.7 N Tomba, chairperson of Wangoi Nagar Panchayat Longjam Babita Chanu, vice chairman of Wangoi Nagar Panchayat Modhubala Devi, councillor of ward no.7 of the same Nagar Panchayat Kh Modhuchandra, ward no.2 councillor Th Ibungo, ward no.III councillor W Basanta, former party candidate from Naoriya Pakhanglakpa A/C Rojenkumar and former candidate from Moirang A/C M Ashok Singh.
Meanwhile, former Samata party candidate from Lilong A/C Moulana Abdul Kalam has also joined BJP.
BJP Northeast in-charge Chandrashekhar Rao who arrived here today in connection with organisation of the party has welcomed joining of RJD Manipur unit president Wahengbam Nipamacha and others to BJP.
