A combined team do Thoubal district police commandos and 6 Assam Rifles troops arrested a KYKL cadre from Thoubal bazar yesterday.
He has been identified as Akoijam Suresh (48) s/o (L) AK Yaima of Thoubal bazar.
He revealed that he is working under the command of Khelemba of KYKL and he has involved in the transaction of money to Khelemba at Namphalong and Moreh, said a source.
One mobile phone along with a SIM card have been recovered from his possession.
In another incident, troops of Jwalamukhi Battalion under Senapati Brigade of Red Shield Division apprehended four active cadres of KUFO in an operation carried out on Sep 22, a statement informed.
Based on specific input regarding the presence of active cadres of KUFO in Mothang village of Senapati district, an operation was launched by the troops of Jwalamukhi Battalion that resulted in the apprehension of Choanjao Sithlou alias Khanko, 27, s/o Henhao Sithlou of Henjang village, Sekmai; Nagakhoang Sings alias Ruben, 26, s/o Tonghao of Songbel village, Saikul; Haominlun Lhouvum alias Lulen, 19, s/o Henjalan Lhovum, of Keithalmanbi village, Senapati and Lamingthang Lhovum alias Mining alias Don alias Jakir, 19, s/o Lamkholal of Motbung village.
One AK -47 rifle, one .303 rifle, 5.56mm INSAS rifle and a 7.65 mm Pistol Magazine with 23 live rounds, a sum of Rs 1370 in cash, three mobile handsets, two wallets and a rucksack were seized from their possession.
Investigations revealed that they were active cadres of KUFO and were involved in various nefarious activities.
Choanjao Sithlou is the town commander of Motbung.
They also revealed that they were trained at T/Gamnom.
The apprehended cadres along with recovered arms and ammunition were handed over to the police for further investigation, PIB Defence, Imphal, informed.
