Freshers' meet organised

Assam Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Dilip Kumar Paul has said that nobody will be able to undermine Manipuris as the community has its own rich culture and tradition.
He was speaking at the annual freshers' meet of All Assam Manipuri Students' Union (AAMSU) at the auditorium of Silchar district library today.
Dilip Kumar Paul said that Manipuris are very serious in protecting their identity and culture.
He said that Assam Government would not only renovate AAMSU's office located at Rongpar but also do the needful to end all the inconveniences faced by the Manipuri community in Assam.
Social activist Okram Churamani while speaking at the occasion urged the Deputy Speaker to extend support to the Manipuri community in their effort to develop their language and culture.
Among others AAMSU president P Nilakanta, S Kamlakanta, Pahari Singh, Pushpa Devi and AAMSU legal advisor H Babu also attended the function.
