Inter-college literary meet

The 21st Manipur University Inter-College Literary Meet 2016 has kicked off today at the Centenary Hall of Manipur University.
The inaugural function was graced by Prof N Mohilal Meitei, Dean of Students Welfare, MU, Khaidem Mani, senior advocate and Chingsubam Manglemton Meitei, president, Manipur University Students' Union (MUSU) .
Speaking at the pro-gramme, Prof N Mohilal Meitei said that development of future lies in the hands of the students.
Therefore, students should focus on their goals and excel academically.
Organising such event to identify the talents will certainly help in society building, he added.
Khaidem Mani asserted that organising the inter-col-lege literary meet during the observance of Irawat month has made the event even more significant.
Students should remember his contribution and continue his good work for the welfare of society.
Chingsubam Manglemton said that education is essential for developing a society and nation as a whole.
However, one should not forget one's identity and culture.
Upholding our identity and acquiring knowledge needed for the betterment of society are both necessary.
Issue of Inner Line Permit system should also be discussed at length since it plays a very important role in safeguarding the identity and rights of the indigenous people of Manipur, he said.
