Online campaign to install TrueNat machine at Senapati District reaps positive decision

Thanks to wisdom and leadership of Dr Thohe Pou online signature campaign, Chief Minister N Biren Singh has accepted to install TrueNat machines in Senapati, Jiribam, Ukhrul and Churachandpur districts.
PHE Minister Losii Dikho who was also rooting for the cause has been asked to lead in studying and purchasing the multi-disease testing high-tech machine.
Similar testing facility was recently installed in Nagaland after due consultation with Dr Apao, a Public Health expert.
Nagaland CM Nephiu Rio had acknowledged and thanked Dr Apao for the assistance to Nagaland Government.
According to Dr Thohe Pou, the online signature campaign drew more than 1300 citizens in less than 48 hours, appealing the Chief Minister to install the machine in Senapati district in view of massive return of stranded citizens of Manipur.
A large number of people signed within a short period of time shows the urgent need to install TrueNat machine in the District Hospital, Senapati, he stated.
The letter justified that TrueNat testing facility is to speed up the swab test of those returnees.
Experts opined that the TrueNat Testing machine can be used to test over 30 disease conditions including TB, malaria, typhoid, HIV, COVID-19 etc.
Therefore, taking up this step will be a landmark history of Manipur, particularly for the people of Senapati , it added.
It also appealed to the CM to provide ambulances to transport sick patients and other emergency patients to the District Hospital or Imphal.
The letter, while appealing to install TrueNat Testing facilities in all the PHCs of Senapati District, also appealed to set up an emergency treatment facility having isolation ward with ICU facilities in the District Hospital.
Dr Thohe Pou recommended the issues be availed to the people on priority basis pooling in resources from funds such as MLA-LADP, MP-LADS, Disaster Management Relief Fund or from any other fund to meet the immediate needs.
