Training / awareness programme for SHGs begins

Awareness programmes on funds under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise 9MSME), condcuted for over 300 Self Help Groups (SHG) of Andro and neighbouring Assembly Constituencies (AC) commenced today.
The training cum awareness programme initiated by Chairman of United NGO Forum, Yairipok Keisham Ningthemjao is being conducted with the purpose of providing knowledge to the SHGs working under MSME.
An awareness programme on training master trainers for wood base furniture clusters began today at PRDA office, Yairipok Yambem Leikai.
The programme is being organised by Organisation Process and Product Development Centre, Agra of Ministry of MSME in association with Progressive Rural Development Agency (PRDA), Yairipok and ITI Imphal East.
Speaking during the programme, Ningthemjao said that the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted daily wagers and poor families.
Owing to the reason, the Ministry of MSME initiated the Scheme of Fund for Regenration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI) which will provide financial aid to workers, farmers.
The scheme will also start providing funds to SHGs soon, he added.
The awareness programmes will be conducted for SHGs of Andro AC, Wangkhem AC, Wangkhei AC and Khundrakpam AC.
As part of the programme, ITI Imphal master trainer Haridas and trainer Boris imparted training to the trainees.
On the other hand, continuing the rice distribution programme to voters of Andro AC, Keisham Ningthemjao distributed 5 kgs of rice each to the voters of polling stations 7/23 (D), 7/24 (A) and 7/25 (A-1) today.
The distribution was carried out with the help of Lamlai Youth Club Yairipok (LYCY) members and Top Chigntha Meira Paibis along with members of the SHGs and Andro AC Congress workers.
