Tree saplings planted by students

Joint Forest Management (JFMC), Tentha under the supervision of Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) RK Amarjit organised a tree saplings plantation cum awareness programme today at Tentha Model School, Tentha Khunou Mamang Leikai.
During the programme, DFO RK Amarjit stressed on the need to inculcate the sense of duty to the younger generation specially the students the significance of tree plantation and its effect on the environment which will help complement our effort to preserve environment and wild life.
As a part of the programme, many tree saplings have been planted in and around PHC, Tentha by a group of students led by DFO RK Amarjit.
DFO RK Amarjit appreciated the participating students who have turned out in large number to make the event successful while adding that the elders of the locality and the officials of JFMC should guide the students on how to preserve environment while imparting knowledge on how to plant tree sapling and to make sure the saplings attained its full growth.
The programme was attended by Biodiversity & Climate Change Divisional Forest Officer, IFS N Ganesh, Assistant Conservator Forest Thoubal, MFS Vahneichong Singson and members of JFMC, Tentha along with local leaders.
