Miss Lina arrives home to a hero's welcome

Imphal, September 26 2013: Miss Bharat 2013 and Miss India North East Lina Lamneilhing Chongloi, who hails from a remote hill areas of Manipur, was accorded a warm welcome late this morning at Imphal Airport upon her arrival by large number of people.

She landed Imphal airport at around 11:30 am.

Lina was crowned Miss Bharat 2013 at June 24 at Bhopal.

The event was organised by Kuki Students Organisation, Sadar Hills.

Bouquets and garlands heaped upon the Miss Bharat as she emerged from the airport.

Minutes later, cars in large number accompanied her to her home town Kangpokpi in Sadar Hills, Senapati district.

As she traversed along the 40 km road home from the Imphal airport, people stood along the roadside welcoming her.

Placards, "Welcome Miss Bharat Miss India North East Lina Chongloi" held by her fans greeted her all along the route.

Upon reaching Kangpokpi town, thousands of peoples including students received her holding huge placards, "Welcome Miss Bharat 2013", and "Welcome Miss India NE" .

Kangpokpi Town Committee, Kangpokpi Women Welfare Organization, Kangpokpi Youth Club and KSO-SH held grant reception at Kangpokpi Bazaar where Addl.

From Kangpokpi Bazaar she was escorted upto her native village Haijang which is a 5 km from the town where a prayer meeting was held.

Later, Miss Lina Lamneilhing Chongloi expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the people of Manipur particularly the denizens of her home district and Haijang village as well as the Kuki Students' Organization, Sadar Hills for their supports and love.

"I'm too happy to express in words," the beauty queen said after witnessing the large number of people receiving her with warmness.

"I will again represent my State in the forthcoming Miss Glory Universe-an International Beauty Pageant to be held at Paris London and I will once again glorify my sweet Manipur and bring much laurels and fame for my native state if God's willing", Lina said.

A pompous felicitation event has been planned on Saturday at Brig.
