State sees 4 deaths; Ccpur tops daily cases chart

Imphal, August 25 2021:
The state on Wednesday reported four fatalities and 377 new positive cases out of 3769 samples tested, registering a positivity rate of 10 per cent.
Tuesday reported four deaths and 386 new positive cases out of 3525 samples tested.
The test positivity rate was recorded at 10.95 per cent.
The active caseload slid to 3572 out of which 1368 (38.30 per cent) are in home isolation, 789 (22.09 percent) in CHICs, 793 (22.20 per cent) in CCCs and 622 (17.41 per cent) in hospitals.
Among the hospitalised patients, 118 are admitted to ICU/HDU wards, 238 are on oxygen support and 56 on ventilator support.
However, there is no report on the number of patients on oxygen and ventilator support from JNIMS, Hand Hospital and LFS Covid Treatment Centre though these facilities have 188,19 and 19 patients respectively.
At the same time, 20 patients are also on oxygen support in different CCCs.
As of Wednesday evening, 443 beds including 71 ICU/HDU beds were available in different hospitals.
There is no updated information on bed vacancy in other facilities but as of Tuesday evening 2754 beds are available in different CCCs, and 295 beds (22 ICU/HDU) in district hospitals and CHCs.
So far, the state has recorded 82,575 positive cases and 1389 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month saw an addition of 13,476 new cases and 207 fatalities out of which 2658 new cases and 35 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, the 377 new cases included 370 people (200 male & 170 female) from among the general population and 7 personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).
Their samples were tested at RIMS (24), JNIMS (22), District Hospitals (244) and other testing centres (87) .
The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (66), Imphal West (141), Thoubal (7), Bishnupur (67), Kakching (8), Ukhrul (16), Churachandpur (167), Chandel (5), Senapati (8), Tamenglong (13), Jiribam (l), Noney (3), Pherzawl (3) and Kangpokpi (16).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 4 Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours but no age and gender information have been provided.
The district wise fatalities are Imphal West (l), Imphal East (2) and Thoubal (l) .
The cumulative number of deaths is 1763.None of the four victims have received any vaccine doses and two of them did not have any co-morbid conditions.
In the last 24 hours, 411 patients were discharged from home isolation (156), RIMS (7), NIMS (l3), CCCs (128) and CHICs (107).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,11,975 (general population - 1,07,877 and CAPF personnel - 4,098) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,06,640 (general population - 1,02,577 and CAPF personnel - 4,063) and number of active cases is 3,572 (general population - 3,542 and CAPF personnel -30) .
The recovery rate is 95.23 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 1435 D-type and 332 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
Only 4513 vaccine doses were administered on Tuesday and the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals has reached 11,79,578 out of which only 3,13,199 have got both the doses of Covid vaccine.
Meanwhile, nine new positive cases were detected out of 78 samples tested from Tuesday 2 pm to Wednesday 2 pm in Kakching district, registering a positivity rate of 11.54 per cent.
Three cases were detected at Ema Hospital and six at government RAT sites.
All are residents of Kakching district.
Earlier on Tuesday, the district reported 15 positive cases out of 184 samples.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (37,777), Imphal East (24,980), Thoubal (9028), Churachandpur (9477), Kangpokpi (2594), Tamenglong (3049), Bishnupur (8581), Senapati (2036), Ukhrul (2164), Kakching (6096), Chandel (2139), Noney (987), Tengnoupal (1010), Jiribam (994), Kamjong (699), and Pherzawl (364).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (586), Imphal East (413), Thoubal (163), Churachandpur (152), Kangpokpi (55), Tamenglong (13), Bishnupur (181), Senapati (7), Ukhrul (24}, Kakching (109), Chandel (33), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (12), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (4) and Pherzawl (0) .
However, the figure does not match with data released by CMOs and DSOs of some districts.
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 36,086 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 23,301 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 3,84,085 tests per million population against the national average of 3,66,301 TPM.
Case fatality rate reduced at 1.57 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, 3769 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 10 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate rose to 9.40 per cent.
