Mayang Imphal Bazar Shopkeepers' Union has stated that though Rs 2000 note amounting to Rs 100 crore and Rs 100 note amounting to Rs 7 crore have reportedly reached the State, SBI located at Mayang Imphal is yet to provide exchange and deposit services to the people of Mayang Imphal area.
In a statement, the union asserted that banks and post offices located in other parts of the country operate for upto 18 hours in a day while bank and post office employees of the State have been discharging their duties reluctantly.
After standing in queues for hours, customers are allowed to exchange just Rs 2000 instead of Rs 4500 .
Since SBI, Mayang Imphal has failed to provide services to the people, the union has submitted a complaint to SBI Regional Business Office, the statement said.
