Raghu's house in Khurai ransacked

The house of Ngangom Raghu alleged to be the main culprit in murder of Yendrembam Naoba on March 13 last, has been ransacked.
Residents of Kongpal Laishram Leikai where Naoba hailed from, had been targeting the house for the last one month.
Naoba died when he was beaten up for allegedly stealing goods from Raghu's shop at Khurai Konsam Leikai on March 13.Residents of Khurai Konsam Leikai had claimed that he died of drowning in a public pond where he had jumped into in a bid to escape from the crowd attacking him.
Decrying the claim of the locality and alleging that he was thrown into the pond after being lynched, locals of Kongpal Laishram Leikai had been targeting the house of Raghu since the day on which Naoba�s dead body was retrieved.
Taking advantage of a relaxation in the security setup, about 80 people mostly womenfolk of Kongpal Laishram Leikai stormed the house of Raghu and damaged the house.
They also ransacked the belongings in the house.
Police who arrived there instantly fired several rounds of tear gas shells and other mob control ammunition devices to disperse the mob.
No injury was reported.
