Two-year-old kid robbed, murdered

Imphal, December 31 2011:
In a gruesome act, a two-year old kid was robbed of his gold chain and ear-ring and later on murdered by throwing into Imphal River at Laphupat Tera under Mayang Imphal Police Station.
The young victim has been identified as Ningthoujam Ardish.
He was the lone son of N Shyamchandra and Ningthoujam ongbi Anju of Laphupat Tera.
According to Shyamchandra, his child left along with his uncle Tolen (younger brother of Shyamchandra) to the ground of YOC where arrangements were being made for a Thabal Chongba programme at around 9.30 am today.
Upon reaching there, Tolen kept the kid near an elder child of the village and he went ahead to help in the arrangements.
After sometime, he came back to the place where he left the child.
Not finding the kid there, he came back to his home and asked his family members if Ardish had come back.
In the meantime, a woman who came on a boat in the river alerted other villagers when she found a kid drowning in the river.
The drowning kid turned out to Ardish and the gold chain and ear-rings of the kid were found missing.
The kid was rushed to RIMS hospital where he succumbed.
A case has been registered by the Mayang Imphal Police Station.
