The Democratic Students Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has accused JNIMS Medical Superintendent of giving an irresponsible reply concerning the inquiry report about the removal of kidney from a patient in an operation related to a stone case, conducted by Urology doctor, Dr Jitendra on May 29 at JNIMS .

The patient’s family filed a complaint to the Medical Superintendent on June 13 to conduct an inquiry regarding the removal of the kidney without the approval of the patient or the family members .
On the next day, Dr Jitendra held a meeting with the family members in the presence of JNIMS Medical Superintendent in his office and tendered an apology for not informing them and asked the family members to come back after a week for further discussion on the inquiry repot regarding the incident, he added .
Edison conveyed that the Medical Superintendent failed to take up any action and also failed to give a detailed inquiry report and when the family members approached him, he irresponsibly replied that the inquiry report have been misplace or stolen by some unknown persons .
Condemning the incident, he urged the Health Department to look into the matter and to take up proper befitting actions against those involved.
